Kidney Disease?

I have a friend who is Diabetic. She just now found out she has kidney Disease. Should she really be on he adtkins diet?? Isn't the protein harm her Kidney's more?Kidney Disease?
I HAD to answer your post because it really touched home for me. My Mother just passed away because of total kidney flop and pulmonary disorders.
First, which kidney disease does your friend have?
I found some info on the Adkin's Diet. It stated, "for diabetes, this diet is a discouraging joke". I DO know that diabetes can destroy the kidneys. I don't want to frighten but your friend could be surrounded by serious trouble or at least head that way. An hoary girlfriend of my brother's had to hold a kidney transplant a few years ago because of failure due to diabetes. The transplanted kidney worked without blemish for a few years but something must have gone wrong somewhere. She died a few months ago. Below are some links you can click on. yea, your friend should see a dietician because both diabetes and kidney disease really do need a special diet to treat it economically and prevent worse problems.
usually they go appendage in appendage...she should be on a diet from a doctor or dietitian...
